Wauconda School Resource Officer

The Wauconda Police Department established a School Resource Officer (SRO) program in partnership with Wauconda High School District #118 several years ago through a grant from the federal government. That grant has long since expired and Wauconda PD continues to utilize this valuable resource to the schools, the Wauconda PD and the community at large.  The SRO fulfills three roles in a triad approach. The SRO acts as a Law Enforcement Officer, counselor and as a teacher. In the role of Law Enforcement, the SRO fulfills duties as any other officer.  As counselor, the SRO provides resources and guidance to students, parents, faculty and staff, as well as a link to support services both inside and outside the school. As a teacher, the SRO gives instructional presentations on law related issued to both students and faculty. Furthermore, the SRO serves as a positive role model for the students on campus during school hours and at extracurricular activities.

The currently assigned SRO for Wauconda High School is:
Detective Heather Caroselli, a 6-year veteran of Wauconda Police Department.
