Citizen Police Academy

The Wauconda Police Department initiated the Citizen's Police Academy to help our community understand the day to day functions of our department. Most people have very little contact with the police officers in their community. Their views of law enforcement are obtained from television shows and news reports. We want to give our citizens a better understanding of our department's role in the community and the realities of police work. Together, we can work toward a safer community and reduce crime.
