April 10 – 16 is National Public Safety Telecommunications Week

The men and women who answer the telephones and radios are the vital link between police/fire/paramedics and you!  Each year they continue to exhibit compassion and professionalism as they coordinate the efforts of public safety providers for events such as bomb threats, burglaries, water rescues, medical instruction, fires and helicopeter resue coordination.

May 15 – 21 is National Police Week

On average, one law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty somewhere in the United States every 53 hours.  Established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy and a joint resolution of Congress, National Police Week pays special tribute to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. Ceremonies are held in Washington, DC, and in communities across the country.
